On Carson St. in Lakewood is a hidden gem, Genesis Hair & Beauty Salon. D’Etta is the owner of the salon and she has been a stylist and entrepreneur for over twenty years. D’Etta loved styling hair as a child and would braid her family and friends hair. Her mom noticed D’Etta’s passion and talent for hair and later encouraged her to pursue a career in it. So, D’Etta went to cosmetology school where she studied hair styling. She began working in the industry before she opened Genesis Hair & Beauty Salon. D’Etta has helped many clients with their hair problems and goals.

When customers walk into the salon or call in, they get a free consultation from D’Etta. She is kind and caring as she advises clients. When clients have hair problems such as hair loss, hair thinning, gray hairs, or scalp irritation then D’Etta helps them discover the cause of it to improve their hair. She helps women and men with hair problems. Many times, D’Etta has found that clients get hair problems from medication they take, bad hair products the clients use, low vitamin levels, or health problems. She advises clients to listen to their body, and that their hair problems are signs of other issues that need to be addressed. D’Etta has compassion for her clients and helps them look and feel good.

D’Etta helps clients with their hair goals and creates fabulous hair styles. She does haircuts, highlights, hair coloring, braids, weaves, perms, wet sets, relaxers, press in curls, extensions, and dredlocks. Clients can bring in pictures of hairstyles they want or get advice from D’Etta what hairstyle they should have. D’Etta helps women, men, and kids with new hairstyles. Genesis Hair & Beauty Salon has an amazing Esthetician, known as Facez by Monica by clients.  Facez by Monica does facials, waxing, eyelash extensions, skincare, and more.
