Sterling’s Fitness Philosophy: From Personal Discovery to Coaching Excellence
Finding Purpose Through Fitness

1/7/26

Sterling’s journey into fitness wasn’t born from a lifelong passion—it came from a moment of genuine need. During the pandemic, when so many of us were struggling with isolation and uncertainty, Sterling made a choice that would reshape his life. Bored and discouraged, he turned to fitness not as a trend but as a path forward. What he discovered was transformative: working out became his outlet, his focus, and ultimately, his calling.
As Sterling’s dedication deepened, he found himself naturally gravitating toward the gym. His commitment wasn’t casual—it was intentional. He began documenting his workouts and sharing them across his social media platforms. What happened next was organic and telling: his family and friends noticed. They started reaching out, asking for his advice, drawn to his genuine approach and visible results. That’s when Sterling realized something important: he had a gift not just for fitness, but for helping others unlock their potential.
The Innergizex Difference
Sterling took that recognition seriously. He got certified as a fitness trainer and launched Innergizex, bringing his personal philosophy into a professional practice. Now based in Long Beach, he operates out of the Trinity Training Facility at 117 W. 5th St., offering both private training and small group classes—intimate settings where real transformation happens.
How Sterling Works
Sterling doesn’t believe in one-size-fits-all approaches. When you start working with him, the first step is essential: he measures your health and fitness stats, creating a personalized baseline. More importantly, he listens. Sterling takes time to understand your specific fitness goals and where you want to go. From there, he builds a plan that’s uniquely yours.
His coaching philosophy centers on three pillars that he believes are crucial for long-term health and vitality:mobility, stability, and muscle mass. These aren’t just buzzwords—they’re the foundation for how you look and feel today, and more importantly, for how your body will function as you age and your bones and muscles naturally change.
Sterling teaches his clients to perform a range of functional movements including squats, lunges, core work, and movement patterns that translate to real-world strength and capability. He guides clients through training with free weights, dumbbells, medicine balls, and machines—teaching proper technique so every rep counts and every movement is effective.
Throughout your training, Sterling continuously measures your progress, tracking your evolution and adjusting your program to keep you moving toward your goals. He believes in evidence-based progress, not guesswork.
Who Sterling Helps
Sterling works with both men and women of varying fitness levels and backgrounds. Whether you’re returning to fitness after time away, looking to build serious strength, trying to move better and feel better, or training for a specific goal, Sterling meets you where you are. Sterling understands that investing in your fitness today isn’t an expense—it’s an investment in your future self. The mobility, strength, and resilience you build now directly
determine the quality of your life as you age. You’re not just paying for training sessions; you’re investing in your ability to move freely, stay independent, and enjoy the activities you love for decades to come. That’s invaluable.
The Core Belief
At the heart of Sterling’s approach is a simple but powerful philosophy: when his clients win, he wins. This isn’t a slogan for him—it’s the driving force behind every session. Sterling genuinely loves fitness and genuinely loves helping people improve their health and lives. That combination of passion and purpose is what sets him apart.
He’s not just a trainer; he’s a partner in your transformation, invested in your success and committed to helping you become the strongest, most capable version of yourself.
